I am originally from Albuquerque, New Mexico now based in Phoenix, Arizona. I am a multimedia journalist and master’s student at the Walter Cronkite School of Journalism and Mass Communication. I have a passion for telling stories, accurately portraying the world's ups and downs. I focus on covering borderlands/immigration, Indigenous communities and arts/culture. Currently, I report for Carnegie-Knight News21 and Cronkite News.
In addition to my journalism, I hold a Bachelor of Science in psychology and political science from Northern Arizona University. I have experience in local and state government affairs. I was a nonprofit organizer providing political education and social services to working-class Arizonans. Additionally, I worked as a policy analyst focusing on economic and taxation policy.
My personal and professional experiences give me confidence in my ability to produce meaningful work and prioritize accuracy with accountability. I hold valuable knowledge of political trends, human behavior and insights into the needs of citizens. I use my narrative writing and photography skills to tell stories of struggle and resilience authentically – this is my mission.
